Ethics & sustainability.

Our planet. Our people. Our future.

Banking: While no perfect solution exists, I use two ethical financial institutions that align with my values of transparency, sustainability and community focus. I review them periodically to ensure they uphold these standards.

Recycling: Plastic guide tubes are an issue! In my clinic they are recycled through a dedicated scheme. However, I am actively exploring the use of biodegradable guide tubes for the future.

Cleaning: Wherever possible, I source all my cleaning products from ethical brands that use natural ingredients.

Respect for the origins of Chinese medicine: Before my training, I was unaware of the complex socio-political history of Chinese medicine, including the oppression and racism experienced by its people. I am committed to ongoing learning and reflection on the cultural significance of my practice, particularly what it means for me to be a white acupuncturist in the West. Fully aware that I benefit from these rich traditions, I strive to honour them with integrity and respect. I will always challenge thoughtless cultural appropriation when I see it. I believe it is my responsibility to engage openly in these discussions, while continuing to listen.

Diversity, equity & inclusion: My clinic is a space where everyone should feel safe, seen, and valued, regardless of background or identity. I am trauma-informed and continually deepening my understanding of the lived experiences of marginalised people, while recognising my own unconscious biases. I welcome accountability and appreciate learning from these conversations.

As my business grows, I will continue to adapt my practices to align with my values of caring for the world and its people. Please feel free to check back for future updates. If you have any suggestions or ideas, I would be grateful to hear them.
